Packed up early & left by 7.30am to get our stuff out of storage we had left before doing Gibb River Road. We refueled and were on our way by 8. 30 am (WA time) Crossed over WA/NT border which meant we lost 1.5 hours. Short breaks at Timber Creek, Victoria River. Refuelled and filled gas bottles at Katherine, then onto Jalmurark camping ground at Elsey National Park. Once set up we chatted to some of the other campers who had been there for a few days & said over the weekend there had been 60 campers there! Quite a difference to now as we are one of seven. They warned us about the donkeys, who apparently roam around the park at night.
Saying goodbye to WA, NT/WA Border
'Victoria River' besides being hot, we would like to stay here next time. It has a fantastic river for fishing and the Gregory National Park looks like it would be great to explore with some good free camps near the river.
