Day 77 Saturday 8th September Drysdale Station - Mitchell Falls

This morning we packed up before the heat and  we all had an early morning  “skinny dip” in the gorgeous turquoise  miners pool; we had the place to ourselves and this was the only form of water there!!!   The girls were at first a bit reluctant, but then agreed it was exhilarating……while being “a little bit  naughty”!!   We drove back to the station and left our van on site, then headed onto Mitchell Falls. The road from Drysdale Station to the turn off to the falls was a little better than the previous, however it still took us 2 ½ hours to complete 99kms. We took the turnoff to the falls and found the road deteriated. Even  though the road from here to the campground was  in the process of being graded it still took us 3 ½ hours to do 85kms. By the time we arrived  at 5pm Jason was well and truly ready for a beer and the rest of us had headaches from all the corrugations!
